Day 04 05/13



 Today we got dirty and deep in the crevasses of the Andover Skate Park. We grabbed spades and push brooms from maintenance on our way over in the morning. We decided to get deep in the cracks of the skatepark and really clean it up. As Billy scooped the dirt out, I pushed it down the wall, into the piles awaiting our addition. We took our clips from the days prior and today and made another TikTok of our progress. Our tik toks are the best part of the day since we look at all of our progress and reflect on how much we've changed the park itself. We also talked to Jill and Greg about the materials needed to make our welcome sign and we are now working on that tomorrow! Let's Go! Stay tuned for more updates from CarrSkateTok.

Day 11 05/23

 Today, after a long Saturday of swimming and baseball, we woke up and grabbed brunch before heading to the art studio. I wrapped up my lean spill board, Nathan sharpied the wood stains, and Billy finished his skyline. They look dope! Next, we went to the skatepark so I could try and learn some moves. Malcolm showed me a step-by-step tutorial on the ollie and I got it, sort of. After many spills and falls, I landed a small ollie. The support from the boys was amazing and got me to do it!

Weekly reflection #2 05/23

 During the second week of our senior project, we had much more success with customizations on the sign and skate decks. Early on we cut the wood for the sign, gathered materials for our skate decks, and programmed the design for our sign. After a lot of work, we are very satisfied with what we have completed. The skatepark looks great, and we even found two students who are going to win skate decks. Also, not being a painter, I have found a ton of joy in the painting process with our boards. To add, I have come to enjoy skateboarding a lot more. We have had great times with Ben and some students during our project jamming out to MGK, skating, and sipping arizonas. I would have never liked MGK's music without being introduced through the skatepark. I landed an ollie for the first time and dropped in on the q-pipe. Weekly reflection 05/16

 The first week of our senior project is complete! We have maintained the skatepark throughout the week and drawn out our ideas for the skatepark, cosmetically altered the skatepark, and shredded the skatepark. We have found a good balance of work and play, however, it is still fun to watch the skatepark get cleaner each day. Although our original ideas have shifted (due to shipping), our team has worked together to make the most of our time allotted to the skatepark. Ben has helped us brainstorm every day and helps filter our ideas as well. Without him as a mentor and a fellow skater, we would be at a standstill after week one. Our boards come in to customize Monday and we couldn't be more excited about the ones we get to give away! Our original plan to renovate the skatepark in week 2 and customize skateboards in week 1, has changed due to the decks not arriving in time.
